This is a place to reflect, respond, and take action.

Birth has always been held in circles — of family, of neighbors, of care. Doulas teach us that care does not end at the bedside. It ripples outward. It takes a village to raise a child — and a village to hold a parent through birth.

Look around. The circle is still open. What will you offer? What will you carry forward?

All the books in this zone are copies of books we saw in the homes and workspaces of community doulas, or were mentioned by them as books that impacted them.

The printouts include reports and research that are referenced in the exhibit as well as original scholarship and published advocacy by the community doulas represented in this exhibit.
